What is IIT JAM Entrance Exam?

IIT JAM 2021: JAM stand for Joint Admission Test for M.Sc and the full form of IIT JAM is Indian Institute of Technology Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. JAM is an All India Level Entrance Exam to get admission into IITs, NITs, and IISc in MSc, PhD and other post graduate (PG) or Master’s programs.

From 2004 IITs decided to conduct IIT JAM Entrance Exam for Bachelors (Under Graduate) students through this Entrance Exam they can take admission into these institutions/Colleges, Every year IITs or IISc conduct the IIT JAM entrance exam in month of February, The IIT JAM 2021 Exam will be conducted by IISc Bangalore in 14th February 2021.

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria | JAM Exam Eligibility

  • IIT JAM Eligibility: All Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, Final Year students are also eligible for this Exam (They should have a Bachelor’s degree till admission, For 2021 Asperiants is 20 September 2021).
  • IIT JAM age limit: there is no any specific for IIT JAM Eligibility Age Limit/Criteria for IIT JAM 2021 but All candidates must have Bachelor’s degree (Final Year students also eligible for this exam).
  • Academically the candidate should score minimum aggregate marks or CGPA/CPI without rounding off (Including all the Subjects languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) must have at least 55% percent or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC/NCL/EWS category candidates however 50% percent or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates fullfill the JAM Eligibility.
  • The Foreign candidates or Foreign nationals also eligible for IIT JAM Entrance Exam but they should have Indian degree for apply and subject to the admitting institute’s policy.
  • Eligibility for Subjects: If You have any particular subject in your B.Sc or Bachelor’s then you are eligible for IIT JAM e.g. If You have Biotechnology Subject then you are eligible for IIT JAM Biotechnology Exam.   • At the time of Admission candidates will have to submit their Physical Fitness certificate from a registrad medical practitioner in the prescribed form.

Exam Partten and Mode of Exam

The IIT JAM Exam Partten is slightly same as the another exam, It has three types of questions MCQ, MSQ or either NAT type and the Full Marks of this Exam is 100 Marks, It has Negative Mark for each & every wrong Questions.

The IIT JAM exam will be conducted online mode in two sessions, The first session will be start from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, These session include 3 subjects which are Biotechnology (BT), Physics (PH) and  Mathematical Statics (MS) and the second session will be start from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM and in this session include 4 subjects which are Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MT) and Economics (EN).
